The City of Seadrift held two workshops on July 25 and July 30 to discuss the proposed 2019-2020 FY Budgets and the proposed Preliminary Tax Rate.
A Public Hearing was also held on August 6, 2019 at 6:45 p.m. At the Regular Meeting on August 6, 2019, City Council voted to adopt the Proposed 2019-2020 Fiscal Year budgets for Utility, Solid Waste, Harbor, Hotel-Motel, and the FEMA CDL.

The City of Seadrift held two workshops on July 25 and July 30 to discuss the proposed Preliminary Tax Rate. A Public Hearing was held on August 6, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. At the Regular Meeting on August 6, 2019, City Council voted to Preliminary set the proposed Tax Rate of $0.5600 per $100 valuation for the 2019-2020 Fiscal Year on which to base the preliminary 2019-2020 General Fund Budget.
The governing body of the CITY OF SEADRIFT, TEXAS proposes to use revenue attributable to the tax rate increase of 2¢ for the following purposes of: $0.0747 for streets/drainage; $0.0300 for Waste Water Treatment improvements and $0.4553 for General Purposes = $0.560.

The City of Seadrift annually adopts an operating budget to meet the ongoing needs of its citizens. Preparation of the annual operating budget is a primary duty of the City Mayor and, once finalized, it is submitted to the City Council for further review and adoption.
