HURRICANE HARVEY Damage to bayfront

BAYFRONT PIER

Hurricane Harvey (2017) caused severe damage to the end of the City's Pier on the Bayfront.

The Project is mostly complete with only some lights still needing to be replaced/repaired. The Pier is now open to the public.

BAYFRONT RESTROOM

Due to erosion from Hurricane Harvey (2017), the Bayfront Restroom suffered severe damage. The old restroom was demolished and the new restroom has been placed closer to the street. The new restroom is not yet ready to be opened to the public, but a port-o-let is available for any resident to use while at the Bayfront. This port-o-let is located next to the Pavilion.

SEAWALL

For the Public's safety, several areas are fenced off on the Seawall.

The City is still working with FEMA to help repair and extend the Seawall. This is estimated to be around an ~$7,000,000.00 project.

12th Street to 15th Street Shoreline

Due to Hurricane Harvey (2017), there was severe erosion from 12th Street to 15th Street on the Bayfront.

Construction for this project to refill this area will begin around Fall 2022
